concept iteration post here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/w6VYPO 3D work of our protagonist for the 4th semester game project Temia at Games Academy. It was my first time rigging an animating for a project. Due to scheduling I used Auto Rig Pro to speed up the process. Face rigging's not a necessity for this game so we decided not to make one. Nevertheless I had to add armature by myself for the less humanoid parts. Also the weight paint needed a lot of editing until it proved useful. So I still made my experiences with overall rigging. For animating I was able to use my experience with 2D animation to produce enough animations (around 13 animations) in a short time to keep the schedule. Still I need to learn a lot about 3D animating when it comes to graph editing for nuanced and dynamic animations. Hair animation was made with a ragdoll system by one of our programmers in Unity. Also the speed of every animation is interchangeable in Unity. Overall time I needed to produce this character, from concepting to final animations, is roughly around 3-4 weeks. The character contains 30k Tris. It's a rough estimation, because I also had other fields inbetween to take care of. I was working on Props (example:https://www.artstation.com/artwork/182oZq ) and also supported the Environment department. My working fields in this project were: Character and Props Concepting/Designing, Props Creation from A-Z, Character Creation from A-Z, Character Animation, Environment Asset Editing ready for export, Environment Texturing, Environment Plant/Flower Alpha Creation, Alpha Art Nouveau Creation for Zbrush and Blender and selfmade Smart Material Creation for the stylized look and worn out gold.
Temia in-attack-pose for the Marmoset Viewer. smart materials like the stylized matte look and worn out gold are selfmade.
